Salary:£40,945 (pending salary review)

IRW is committed to working in Fragile and conflict states. It recognises that to achieve the global SDGs, approaches to preventing conflict and encouraging peace must be contextual and sustainable. IRW is recruiting for the exciting position of ‘Conflict Advisor’. The Conflict Advisor will provide technical direction in relation to a three-year programme funded by the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) on conflict prevention and peacebuilding in Kenya, Indonesia, Pakistan and Philippines. The role will, in line with best practise, support the design of quality approaches to conflict prevention and peace. The role will also ensure that IRW builds further on its faith approaches to conflict and that IRW programmes are conflict sensitive. The will generate learning and evidence internally, engage with external stakeholders, and externally share best practise

The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge of current sector trends in relation to Conflict Prevention and Peacebuilding in the context of INGOs & experience of providing technical support and backstopping. They will have worked in fragile and conflict environments with INGOs or UN agencies. The chosen candidate will be able to work across multiple stakeholders with excellent tact and communication skills. They will have a track record of generating and communicating best practise to a range of stakeholders. Knowledge of and engagement with faith perspectives around conflict would be an advantage
