We are recruiting for a Programme Manager – Conflict Prevention & Peacebuilding in Fragile Contexts (PM-CPPFC) to be based at our International Office, located at the heart of Birmingham. The role of the PM-CPPFC will be responsible for managing the Sweden International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) funded Conflict Prevention and Peacebuilding in Fragile Contexts (Pakistan, Kenya, Philippines and Indonesia) project implementation over the course of three years, ensuring that project deliverables and results are being achieved effectively and efficiently. The incumbent will be responsible for assuring that the project is implemented within the agreed scope of work and in compliance with SIDA’s regulations and within IRW’s policies and processes.

Significantly and essentially the PM_CPPFC is expected to have extensive experience working on complex projects, in multi-countries with multiple stakeholders both internal and external. Knowledge as well as experience of having worked in or on projects related to countries in fragile context will be an additional advantage to the role as well as the ability to demonstrate experience of dealing with conflict issues.

The PM-CPPFC will have to liaise on a regular basis with various internal and external stakeholders and provide them with regular updates of the progress on the project. The PM-CPPFC will also be the focal point for the project and will manage the communication to and from various stakeholders. They will also be responsible for representing the programme to all key stakeholders both within the organisation and to external stakeholders. This will entail providing regular updates, communicating the progress and proposed work as well as ensuring that targets are being met and both schedule and budgets are maximised efficiently.

The successful candidate will have experience of working on projects associated with donors such as DFID, SIDA, the various UN bodies and other institutional donors. Also critical to the role will be demonstrated experience of working in consortia. The post holder should be willing to travel extensively often at short durations and for lengthy periods of time. The candidate will have excellent levels of IT literacy and will have advanced English writing skills and ability to communicate effectively.
