Salary: Stating from £32,640 per annum (Depending on Experience) + £3,000 London Weighting
The International Media Coordinator will contribute to the planning and execution of the media strategy to enhance and protect the reputation and increase the exposure of IR’s great work around the globe through the medium of the global media. The post holder will leverage media (print, broadcast and digital) to strengthen the funding and voice of IR in line with its vision and global strategy, and support global advocacy on important issues like Sustainable Development Goals, DRR, GBV and ISD. S/he will act as the global contact point for media enquiries and providing compelling and timely responses and preparation (in partnership with any retained PR agency) including within crisis management situations. The post holder will build a culture of effective and coordinated media work with consistent messaging across all IR bodies.
The successful candidate will have experience of working as a Media Coordinator in a busy newsroom, PR agency and/or successful media engagement at an international level. The post holder will have a proven track record of mainstream media coverage and established media contacts. The candidate will have proven experience of engaging with journalists whilst utilizing sound political judgment and sensitivity. The successful candidate will have a Degree or qualification in PR, International Relations or another degree in a similar field is highly desirable. The post holder will be IT literate with a command of MS Office applications, in particular PowerPoint. The post holder will be fluent in written and spoken English. A working knowledge of Arabic is highly advantageous.
