JOB SUMMARY
The holder of this position will be responsible for developing and implementing an overall communication for Islamic Relief Philippines country programme, producing project visibility and communication materials, including IEC tools, and ensuring accurate and consistent usage of brand among staff.
KEY ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The Communications Officer will be responsible for the internal & external communications, visibility and branding of IRPH. The specific duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- Develop and implement a communications plan anchored on country programme goals and objectives
- Collaborate with program & technical colleagues to ensure core messaging is consistent with communications strategies and country goals, and opportunities are explored to promote these strategies.
- Produce content and design communications materials for visibility, marketing, and awareness-raising campaigns
- Manage and produce content for digital media, including official social media accounts of IRW
- Identify and collect case stories from beneficiaries and stakeholders to highlight best practices and lessons learned in reports and published materials
- Maintain a database of photos and case stories
- Engage the media in key project activities
- Write and circulate press releases
- Draw up budget proposal for communications and media activities (in congruence with approved media plan)
- Ensure correct and consistent usage of brand among staff and partners
- Support country office resource mobilization
- Provide support to Country Management Team as required
- Monitor news reports on Islamic Relief work in local mainstream media and social networking sites.
- Ensure high quality of communication outputs (i.e. print & video materials) by providing support in editing and proofreading following the IRW guidelines;
Produce and distribute timely, accurate, clear and consistent communication outputs such as brochures, briefing materials, press releases (for local, national & international distribution), newsletters, blogs, photo stories, donor and/or program briefers, appeal briefer for fundraising, reports, powerpoint presentations, and other publications.**ACCOUNTABILITIES**
