Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) is currently recruiting for the position of a Program Manager - Kordofan, who will be responsible for the overall implementation and management of the projects and office in Greater Kordofan state of Sudan.
The role will take ownership of the overall management of the program and support function including Finance, Admin, Procurement, Security, HR and communication functions in the area office. Part of this responsibility would include the post-holder managing and leading the projects team, develop their knowledge and skills of appropriate nature to the projects; guide and motivate to achieve excellent performance all through the projects period and ensuring continuous appraisal of the performance of each staff member. The candidate will manage the projects budget, including projects procurement management, and ensure avoidance of over/under expenditure; ensure judicious expending of the projects funds; and demonstrate value for money in the outcomes and impact of the projects. Furthermore, s/he will manage projects risks, including the risks associated with payment by result approach of the projects funding, and ensure keeping all concerned are accurately and promptly informed about the status of projects risks at any point in time during the projects period.
It is essential that the candidate has a Post graduate in sociology, social work, economics, MBA or any other relevant field with Academic qualification/ certification on project management profession would be an added value. Together with considerable senior management experience in developing countries and/or countries in transition/conflict, the post-holder must experience in programme/project implementation management and in managing programme/project funded by institutional donors (DFID, EU, ECHO, SHF and UN agencies, etc.). The successful candidate must have demonstrable reporting and proposal writing skills (in English), with strategic planning and leadership orientation skills.
