Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) is currently recruiting for the position of a Health and Nutrition Coordinator, who will be responsible of planning, designing, implementing and reviewing all the health and nutrition projects and programmes through the field team inside Syria and in Turkey in order to achieve the overall organizational goal.
The role will Manage project budget and provide technical support and expertise in the area of Health and Nutrition in Turkey and Syria. This would include the post-holder working on advising staff and local partners, health care facilities and programs in establishing and maintaining health and nutrition care, Primary health care services, dialysis centres, blood banks, laboratories and trauma centres. The role will also provide timely and high-quality narrative and financial project reports to donors and management. S/he is required to network with, and represent Islamic Relief to partners (government, authorities, donors, INGOs, local NGOs CBOs etc.) to, for instance, ensure regular and effective communications are maintained within the implementation team, project partners and donors. The post holder will play a key role in improving staff competencies in e.g. the design, delivery and evaluation of training and health and nutrition processes aimed at improving the health and nutrition services for conflict affected communities inside Syria and for Syrian refugees in Turkey.
It is essential that the candidate has at least a bachelor degree from an accredited University in a health-related speciality with proven experience of designing and managing the health and nutrition programmes in the conflict areas. The latter is required to be coupled with experience of working with various International NGOs in developing countries in emergency and developmental context and a strong knowledge of health and nutrition issues during emergency context and in development phase. The candidate must have good interpersonal skills including the ability to listen, sensitivity to other peoples’ views and perspectives, and malnutrition. Knowledge of Arabic and local country language, as should be noted, is desirable.
