Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) is currently recruiting for the position of a Payables ensure the timely and accurate processing of payments to vendors (internal & external), national and international; performing accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions.
The post holder will process all forms of payments and receipts; ensuring all transactions are supported by appropriate documentation and approvals; ensuring correct approval, coding, VAT. Part of this will also include responsibility for ensuring the daily and accurate filing of invoices and supporting documentation. The role will contribute towards the reconciliation and analysis of General Ledger to Sub-Ledger vendor accounts. To support the department and its wider stakeholders, the post holder will be required to undertake rotational roles to gain experience in each of the functions of Finance.
It is essential that the candidate has a demonstrable track record of processing a high volume of transactions with strong customer service focus, and the ability to build effective working relationships with employees and external stakeholders/suppliers. Coupled with proven understanding of accounting principles and concepts (e.g. accounting for payables and receivables, s/he must have the ability to understand financial information and manipulate complex data. Correspondingly, the successful candidate must have the ability to manage and prioritise a high workload and multiple tasks in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines.
