We are currently recruiting for a Shelter Coordinator to be based in Nepal. Under the guidance of the senior programme manager, the shelter co-ordinator is responsible for the implementation of shelter projects and for ensuring compliance to donor standards and requirements. The role will work as part of a team in providing operational management and co-ordination of assistance to earthquake victims in Nepal.
The Shelter Coordinator will manage and oversee the shelter programme management functions including technical and finance under the direct supervision of the senior programme manager. S/he will conduct assessments for shelter needs and will be responsible for overall implementation of shelter related projects. The post-holder will develop and maintain partner relationships with project beneficiaries through regular visits, continuous follow up, technical support and representation. The job holder will ensure that appropriate project policies, practices and systems are in place.
The successful candidate must have substantial experience of working with INGOs in developing countries and a degree or qualification in engineering from an accredited university. Excellent English, written and spoken is essential. Knowledge of the local language is desirable. The post holder must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
