IRW is currently recruiting for the position of Executive Assistant to join the CEO’s Office team and provide executive and administrative support to the Executive Support and Communications Manager, with an emphasis on research, analysis and communication, as well as developing clear channels of communication with internal and external stakeholders and working closely with the CEO’s Office supporting the smooth running of the CEO’s office.

The successful candidate must have or be:

  • Good knowledge and understanding of the voluntary INGO sector
  • Previous experience of providing executive support including briefings and reports
  • Previous experience of minute taking and related skills
  • Previous experience of analysis and research
  • Innovation and creativity skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative, under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Ability to work in a way that is discreet and maintains confidentiality
  • Ability to coordinate the input of others
  • Demonstrated skills in exercising sound judgement and decisions when dealing with unexpected issues
  • Strong communication skills which deliver complex information accurately and with clarity
  • Strong organisational skills ie. ability to prioritise and plan work, set and achieve deadlines, establish and maintain monitoring systems etc.
  • IT literate with a command of MS Office applications, in particular Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to contribute to group discussions in a thoughtful manner
  • Represents the organisation and the CEO’s office in a positive manner
  • Demonstrates the flexibility and energy that is required to reach the goals and targets that are set in a dynamic organisation
  • Strong organisational, writing and interpersonal skills as well as an ability to distill and disseminate complex information
  • Analytical skills to interpret large volumes of data and to be able summarise salient key messages
  • Ability to take accurate and well-presented minutes
  • Ability to help prepare presentations for the CEO for meetings
  • Willingness to travel and work outside normal office hours
  • Research skills and experience
  • High standard of written and spoken English
