Background
The Livelihood Assistant will work as part of Islamic Relief Somalia team, She/He will prepare progress reports, Implementation of Village Saving and Loan Associations (VSLAs), participate community mobilization of all Food security activities in Puntland**.**
SCOPE OF ROLE:
- Design appropriate cash transfer methodology, faciliate and ensure that both conditional and unconditional cash transfer is done appropriately and as required by the donor.
- Ensure that the project budget is maintain according to the task and ensure that the burn rate is in accordance with detail implementation plan and income target.
- Identification of beneficiaries for both conditional and unconditional cash transfers
- Ensure relevant monitoring is done throughout the project in accordance with the project proposal and design.
- Ensure conditional and unconditional cash transfers beneficiaries are properly mentored and supported throughout the project.
- Selection, registration, and verification of target population and beneficiaries.
- Ensure that all project documentation is in place.

- Assist and support Livelihood officer in the implementation of livelihoods interventions for Islamic Relief Somalia.
- Ensure that IRS’s objectives and approaches are well disseminated to raise awareness amongst beneficiaries ensuring compliance of policies and procedures on project implementations.
- Facilitate appropriate community involvement in the design and delivery of food security and livelihood activities (local leaders, local authorities and local communities).
- Training of farmers on Good Agricultural Practice (GAP) and Post-Harvest training and ensure communities and farmers are provided with proper technical guidance in their field works.
- Play an important role in realization of project outputs and outcomes through timely implementation of activities in a well-planned, organized and coordinated manner.
- Coordinate and facilitate the needs assessment survey of IDP’s and urban poor areas in collaboration with others Staff, INGO’s and or government.
- Conduct field visits to evaluate project implementation effectiveness and timely completion of the planned activities.
- Facilitate project inception activities; stakeholder and community awareness.
- Support other staff members within the projects such as the WASH team in the design and work plans with clear milestones.
- Support the Livelihood Officer in effective systems for tracking implementation progress, including periodic reports, regular meetings and action plans to solve operational problems leading to smooth implementation.
- Ensure land preparation and land ploughing is done timely with technical skills.

QUALIFICATIONS.
§ University bachelor degree in Community development/Business Administration/Agriculture, economics or any other relevant field.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
§ Minimum of 5 years working experience in livelihoods, community development, and/or community mobilization.
§ Good communication skills and ability to conduct trainings.
§ Computer skills, good organizational and people centered management skills.
§ Ability to represent the organization in key meetings.
§ Good communication in working with local communities and local authorities.
§ English and Somali language proficiency (speaking, reading, writing).
§ Good writing and reporting skills.
§ Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
