We currently have a vacancy for a Head of Programme Funding and Partnership who will be based in Birmingham, UK. The Head of Programme Funding and Partnership will lead the development, promotion and implementation of programme funding strategy, enabling IRW staff in regions and partners across Asia, Africa and Middle East and, in Eastern Europe to build strong relationships with international donors to secure funding that increases the quality and impact of our emergency and development programmes. The post holder will be leading a dedicated team of professionals mandated to support and strengthen relationship with institutional donors as well as with other Islamic relief family members.

The post holder will lead an established team of staff to work collaboratively across IRW to develop and capitalise on available opportunities for programme funding and work with regional teams to plan and submit high quality funding proposals. The post holder will also contribute to the international programme division’s strategic objectives and will strengthen IR’s relations with the wider humanit arian and development community. The Head of Programme Funding and Partnership will lead on the development, implementation and regular review of the department’s strategy, work plans and systems to achieve the agreed department objectives. The post holder will also be responsible for achieving theprogramme funding targets of IRW.

The successful candidate will ideally have a post graduate degree in Economics / Social Development. The applicant must have applied knowledge of project cycle management including problem analysis, project design, financial planning and management, and monitoring and evaluation. The candidate will have a well-developed understanding of international development and humanitarian work, including experience of partnership working and also a track record of demonstrable success in developing and maintaining global and local partnerships and relationships. In addition the candidate will have excellent interpersonal, relationship management and communication skills. Both written and spoken English skills are essential.
