Our Birmingham, UK office is currently recruiting for the position of ‘Anti-Aid Diversion and Financial Crime Manager’ to join the Treasury Team. The division empowers and builds the capacity of the field offices and Partners to manage funds effectively and efficiently, meeting international standards and the standards of the IR donor agencies.
The post holder will play a vital role in leading IRW’s implementation of its Financial Crime polices whilst ensuring IRW continues to deliver programmes in some of the most challenging environments for aid delivery and reaching the most isolated and vulnerable. The successful candidate will have a good technical understanding of relevant law and regulation and will be able to ensure requirements are effectively implemented across a range of challenging contexts.
The successful candidate must have or be:
· Proven experience of knowledge of relevant laws and regulation in the area of aid diversion, fraud, money laundering, sanctions and counter terrorism financing; for example, UK counter-terrorism law, economic and trade sanctions administered by OFAC; OFSI and EU sanctions regulations
· Demonstrable experience of having worked on establishing/implementing/overseeing aid diversion, fraud, money laundering and counter terrorism financing systems
· KYC and KYB experience within a financial institution or INGO context
· Knowledge of the key principles of risk management, and experience developing and updating risk assessments
· Knowledge of the risk of fraud, bribery and corruption and associated laws and regulations as they impact activities within the aid/INGO sector
· Experience in developing and delivering training
· Experience in establishing due diligence processes on third-party organisations
· Willing to travel overseas as a part of the role where necessary
