Our Birmingham, UK office is currently recruiting for the position of an ‘Executive Assistant’ to join the Governance Division. The Governance Division is central to supporting the CEO, Board of Directors and Board of Trustees in the leadership and executive management of the organisation. It includes Legal, Internal Audit and the Policy and Compliance Unit encompassing Security and Whistleblowing and Complaints. It is an exciting opportunity to work with an international, dynamic and fast-paced team which is at the heart of IRW’s international relief and development efforts helping the most in need across the world.
The purpose of the role will be to manage and coordinate the Head of Governance office in addition to, providing executive and administrative support, research as well developing clear channels of communication with internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, the successful candidate will assist in research and preparation for reports, memoranda, correspondence, briefings, and correspondence of legal nature.
The successful candidate must have or be:
· Qualified to degree level or equivalent with relevant experience in an administrative, financial or legal position
· Previous experience of providing executive support
· Excellent communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills
· Strong motivation and empathy towards the aims and objectives of IRW
· Excellent levels of computer literacy including Microsoft Office applications
· Ability to prioritise and work efficiently under pressure and subject to changing priorities; proven experience of managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and using judgment and initiative in problem resolution
