Islamic Relief Worldwide is looking for a Governance Officer based in Birmingham, UK. The Governance Officer will manage the day to day administration of our internal and external complaints and whistleblowing mechanisms. The Governance Officer will contribute to the ongoing development of key business processes in relation to the receipt and processing of complaint/ whistleblowing disclosures, whilst contributing to the review of operational policy development and associated processes. S/he will provide assistance to the Head of Governance in supporting the work of the Division in assisting with governance and regulatory compliance involving research, production of resources, reports and associated materials and administrative support as directed.
The successful candidate must have or be:
- Strong and seasoned analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and laterally, to overcome challenges.
- Ability to prioritise and work efficiently under pressure and subject to changing priorities; proven experience of managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and using judgment and initiative in problem resolution.
- Excellent communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills. Excellent written and spoken English in particular
- Strong organisation skills and attention to detail to ensure high quality in ones work.
- Proven ability and experience in analysing data which enables sound conclusion and recommendations to be drawn.
