Islamic Relief Worldwide is currently recruiting for a Country Director based in N’Djamena, Chad. The job holder will deliver effective programmes according to the Country Programme and Regional Strategies, facilitate professional and systematic communication and cooperation between the different parts of the IR family. S/he is required to ensure maximum impact of the organisation’s work as well as lead, manage and develop staff in order to ensure that the country office is capable of fully achieving its agreed targets and risk manage, ensure compliance and quality improvement of the country programme.
The successful candidate must have or be:
· Work experience working as a Country Director or a senior management role with an International NGO
· Substantial experience and knowledge of effective budgetary control and grant management
· Experience of managing and mentoring local and international staff
· Proven experience in overseeing programmes; understanding of quantitative and qualitative data in support of programme development
· A working knowledge of a second/local language is desirable
