Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) is currently recruiting for the position of a Protection and Inclusion Officer (Child Protection), who will play a key role towards the delivery of IRW’s international strategy, SDG’s and ‘Leave no one behind’ agenda, with the aim to support the development and preparation of the Child Protection/Child Safeguarding initiatives. The role will support and contribute to project design processes to ensure quality child protection inclusive projects. The role will also lead on delivering child protection/safeguarding training to staff and IR Partners and on some occasions to co facilitate training sessions. This would include responsibility for maintaining the upkeep of the knowledge base in relations to child protection materials and resources. S/he, in addition, will participate and engage on external platforms on behalf of child protection, protection and inclusion team.
It is essential that the candidate has at least a graduate degree with good knowledge of current sector in relation to protection mainstreaming and inclusion. Along with experience of writing and communicating learning effectively (internally and externally), the post holder must have the ability to synthesis data and information effectively. The candidate must have the ability, motivation, and willingness to travel for up to 20% of the year. Working knowledge and/or experience of faith approaches in relation to protection and inclusion is considered to be desirable for this role. This role requires a proactive approach with the ability to work calmly under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
