The Academy of a leading international aid charity seeks a Research & Development Officer. The post holder will be responsible for supporting the development and aintenance of research relationships with academics and researchers, coordinating the administration of the research and development department and developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will coordinate all research events on behalf of the Research and Development department (conferences, seminars, and meetings). S/he will support the development and maintenance of relationships with global universities and work with Research and Development team to design and develop research projects that address the needs of the broader development sector including those of Islamic Relief.The individual will be the lead in developing the website, e-library portal and other ICT based tools and to produce periodic progress reports for online publication and blogs. The post holder will coordinate, lead and disseminate the production of all departmental policies and procedures. S/he will, furthermore, be required to proactively promote and market all research products to encourage researchers and academics to take up appropriate opportunities.

The post holder should have a proven understanding of the research process and a minimum qualification to a Master’s level in a field appropriate to the post. S/he should have knowledge of the principles and methods of quantitative and qualitative research methods. The post holder will have the knowledge and experience of working with researchers of all levels, including postgraduate students, independent researchers up to senior career academics. The successful candidate should have a high calibre of understanding about the research process, ideally with evidence of scholarly research output in ranked publications. S/he must have previous experience of working within research environments, preferably in university and the humanitarian development sector. The individual must also have excellent written and spoken English with excellent levels of computer literacy including Microsoft Office.
