Location: Erbil, Iraq
Islamic Relief - Iraq is implementing a Youth Empowerment project in Erbil in a consortium model, therefore, we are seeking a potential Project Manager based in Iraq who will lead the team of Youth Empowerment staff to effectively to implement the project and response activities in Erbil.
The post holder is required to provide training, mentoring and support to local multi-sectoral response partners in order to strengthen local capacity and sustainability to provide response services, and actively research for potential grants opportunities to identify areas where IR Iraq can apply for funding and discuss with the relevant departments. At the local level, the Project Manager will represent IR Iraq and liaise with the clusters, local authorities, UN, and international and national NGOs to facilitate successful coordination. The successful candidate will also liaise regularly with the Head of programs, and IR management to provide updates on the program, discuss emerging challenges, and collaborate on the design of new programs or changes to existing programs and develop and maintain strong working relationship and coordinate with County authorities, relevant international and local agencies engaged in similar intervention activities in the country
It is essential that the candidate has a Bachelor/Master Degree in Development studies, Social studies, or other related field, and considerable experience working on project management, programs design, and proposal development. The candidate should have the confidence in delivering presentations and representing IR Iraq to a variety of audiences including donor agencies, and with that strong communications skills both verbal and written. To compliment this, the ability to deal with complex situation and solve issues and problems is also required.
