JOB TITLE: GBV Case Workers (2)

CONTRACT LENGTH: 12 MONTHS with possible extension upon performance based and fund availability
REPORTS TO: Senior Gender and inclusion Officer
LINE MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES: None
JOB SUMMARY
GBV case workers (2), will be focusing on case management and general support to protection activities. The person will be responsible for the Protection case working System data collection in line with Protection Information Management principles and methodology, collecting information about GBV risks and reporting about protection/GBV concerns
SCOPE OF ROLE:
The GBV Case Worker will be responsible to provide the day-to-day Management of all GBV cases and including the identification, documentation, developing case plans and follow up.
Ensure the principle of safety and confidentiality of beneficiaries’ data upheld.
Provide weekly case update to supervisor including new cases identified, number of referrals, cases closed and follow ups.
GBV Case Worker will liaises directly with other service providers working within the GBV and communities where the project is implemented and facilitate referrals to other service providers (including Health (Mental health), Was& shelter, Livelihoods, NFIs.)
Ensures that Survivor Centered Approach Guiding principles maintained and enforced in while working with survivors including in safe spaces for women and girls.
Facilitate the setting up of information desk where adolescent and women of reproductive age can access Sexual Reproductive Health information.
Contribute within the women and girls center to the identification of at-risk girls, boys and women and ensure proper documentation
Support GBV at risk individuals or survivors by referring them when necessary and in respect of their consent to other service providers (Health, legal counselling, shelter, livelihoods or mental health)
Provide direct support and care for vulnerable women and girls (including survivors of gender-based violence) including basic information counselling and case management.
Assessment of survivor needs, developing an action plan, implementing the plan, follow up and case closure processes in line with the GBV case management standard operating procedure and IASC guidelines on case management (SOPs).
Provide direct age-appropriate support and care to vulnerable adolescent and young women (including survivors of GBV) that includes counseling and case management for under 18 years survivors in line with case management: Best Interest Determination (BID), age appropriate engagement and decision making by survivor
Ensure Do No Harm analysis is carried out and the principle of Do No Harm is observed and upheld in all the engagements of the Case worker
Identifying specific needs of GBV survivors.
Ensuring interventions meet required standards through training and following standard operating protocols (SOPs).
Assessing the quality of GBV referral services.
Assessing and determining client’s needs and strengths to generate service plan
Document client information through accurate filling of intake and consent forms and ensure confidential and safe storage.
Participate in preparation of all relevant reports regarding IRS GBV activities
Develop and maintain referral networks and pathways with other service providers and camp management to ensure that survivors receive compassionate support from the community and to encourage greater communication, collaboration and coordination among partners (protection, health, legal, and psychosocial sectors).
Monitor and supervise case management, including capacity building through training and on-the-job training of community workers. Training topics should include active listening and effective communication, action and safety planning, GBV guiding principles, GBV basic concepts, and other related topics.
Coordinate with other actors providing essential services. Advocate with other organizations to ensure that survivor receives best possible care.
Build capacity of other groups – particularly community groups – to provide quality GBV prevention and response. Use a survivor-centered and community-based approach. and Respect guiding principles of safety, confidentiality, non-discrimination.
Support other protection activities especially:
Report about emergencies such as evictions, displacement, natural disaster and related protection needs
Participate in protection and multi-sectoral rapid needs assessments
Support coordination of emergency response through sharing information about needs and ongoing interventions
Provide psychological first aid and referrals to survivors of protection incidents in line with the survivor-centered approach
Conduct spot observation in areas where returnees, Host and IDPs are living for inclusion in protection mainstreaming
Participate in protection and multi-sector awareness sessions
Compile weekly and monthly reports
Conduct other duties as assigned by supervisors

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor degree in social science, social work, psychology, gender studies or related field.
Diploma in Social sciences or related qualification in social work, Psychology protection or human rights plus 2 years’ experience will be accepted in lieu of bachelor’s degree.
NOTE: Qualified Female Candidates are highly considered
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
At least one-year previous NGO or humanitarian work experience for GBV/Protection field
Good data collection/analysis and reporting skills
Experience using online data collection software
Familiar with computers, Outlook, Excel and MS Word, mobile surveys
Experience in Protection case working and reporting
Honest, hardworking and independent. Good communication

Additional experience
