JOB SUMMARY

JOB PURPOSE:

Provide strong technical skills and capabilities to the gender-based violence team and follow-up with them.

Implement and deliver high-level gender-based violence programs , build the capacity of the case management team by providing relevant case management training.

In order to mitigate the risks of GBV and to provide a high quality response for survivors to reach recovery

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS:

  • Responsible for developing individual plans with case workers for each case separately to meet their needs and help reduce protection risks.
  • Participate with case workers in aspects of case management (from individual supervision with the existence of the beneficiary to case management plans to cases closure).

  • Supervise the implementation of case management services and activities.
  • Conduct a range of desk-based research, including literature reviews, writing high-quality reports, synthesizing evidence and knowledge for policy makers and practitioners within short time frames. This will include understanding and clarifying external experts’ needs and consultations.
  • Work directly on consultancy, research, and evaluation contracts related to gender-based violence and protection.
  • Support and lead consulting teams.
  • Contribute to research activities in other assistance offices which are not concerned with gender- based violence.
  • Contribute to strategic thinking, intellectual leadership, and planning, including keeping up with current thinking, methodologies, and best practices in gender-based violence and protection.
  • Provide technical support to the case management team.
  • Coordinate with working organizations to facilitate referral process.
  • Hold regular meetings with case workers and regular discussions of cases.
  • Summarize cases and challenges through periodic reports (daily, weekly, monthly).
  • Monitor documentation of cases and ensure electronic archiving.
  • Monitor progress of work according to project plan and indicators.
  • Auditing requests for material support for cases according to their needs and submitting requests to the direct supervisor
  • Monitoring and justifying the process of material support for the cases with case management workers.
  • Perform other work tasks requested by the project manager.

Knowledge, Experience, and Qualifications

  • University degree or institute in social sciences or psychological counseling or related to this subject.
  • Experience in the field of violence and case management for at least five years in the humanitarian work, especially in the field of psychological support and protection with other humanitarian organizations
  • Experience for 3 years in supervising teams of gender-based violence cases.
  • Experience in training and has a TOT trainer certificate.
  • High proficiency in writing administrative reports in English.
  • High efficiency in coordinating local efforts to meet the needs of children at risk.
  • Self-motivated and initiative with a high level of energy.
  • Strong knowledge and commitment to humanitarian work standards.
  • Commitment to human rights and community approach
  • Ability to work within a team under pressure and respond to changing needs.
  • Priority for applicants within the work areas
  • Female is required for this position

Language

  • Excellent level in English
  • fluent in Arabic (written and spoken).

IT skills

  • Excellent computer skills .
  • Proficiency in the internet and search tools.
  • Proficiency in MS office (Excel, power point and word)
