JOB TITLE: Field Monitor Intern (4 positions)

DEPARTMENT: Program

BASE LOCATION: Mogadishu (2) and Afgoye (2)

CONTRACT LENGTH: 6 months

REPORT TO: Project Assistant/ Officer

LINE MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES: none

JOB SUMMARY

Under the supervision of Project Officer, the field monitor Intern will participate implementation of field activities and direct communication with communities served by program. This will include identifying target households, meeting with community leaders and representatives, conducting registration of households for assistance, conducting technical assessments, monitoring the day-to-day work of the project activities, and liaising with households and community members throughout implementation. This is a field-based position and may require spending extended periods of time in the field.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

  • Participate in community mobilization, and registration processes.
  • Ensure that all activities such as community consultation, beneficiaries’ selection, and cash transfer are carried out correctly.
  • Carryout data entry related to all project activities.
  • Ensure that all documents related to the beneficiary’s activities are accurate and complete information to be captured by the registrars
  • Conduct awareness /sensitization on cash transfer activities among communities and local leaders.
  • Ensure safe equipment and resources usage and make sure that all equipment and office resources are utilized appropriately
  • Facilitate beneficiary identification in consultation with communities and local leaders using a set of criteria.
  • Performing daily quantitative and qualitative documentation through the tools (assessment forms, follow-up forms, groups report)
  • Reporting on activities and organizing daily and weekly activities in conjunction with the project Officer.
  • Participate baseline and end line assessments during the project period.
  • Participate data collection and assessments of livelihood projects.

  • Must be a Somali national-fluent in written and spoken Somali and local languages.

  • Ability to work well in unstable and frequently changing security environments;
  • Proven ability to work creatively and independently both in the field and in the office.
  • Good inter-personal skills, commitment and motivation
  • Fluent in written and spoken Somali and English languages.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree/Diploma of Social Science, Community Development, BA or related field of study

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • No experience required
  • Basic field monitoring experience is preferred
