Salary: UK - £36,666 per annum / Globally where we have an IR Country Office - £29,333 per annum

IRW’s International Programmes Division is recruiting for the position of ‘Regional Programme Coordinator (RPC) - Asia’ to join its dynamic team from either its Office in Birmingham or globally where IR have a Country Office. The purpose of the role is to guide and support assigned country offices in the development, monitoring and reporting of effective, impactful and quality programmes in line with Country and Programme Strategies, ensuring sound grant management, adherence to IR programme quality standards and compliance requirement as well as raising the profile of assigned country/counties amongst donors and potential funders.

The successful candidate must have or be:

  • A graduate degree in international development, economics or other social sciences or any other relevant subject and/or several years working in a similar role in the development/humanitarian sector
  • Strong organisational and project management skills: The coordinator should be able to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, and have experience with project planning, budgeting, and monitoring and evaluation.
  • An in-depth understanding of current international development issues
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: The coordinator will be responsible for communicating with a variety of stakeholders, including local partners, donors, and other INGOs, so strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and other office IT packages
  • Proven track record of working in a programme management, programme coordination or MEAL role with an International NGO.
  • Strong and well developed analytical skills coupled with experience of writing quality proposals and reports
  • Proven track record of experience with INGOs in developing and delivering humanitarian and development programming and projects, across multiple sectors
  • Experience of working on emergency and/or disaster preparedness programmes in developing countries
  • Experience of successfully fundraising and dealing with institutional donors and international donors
  • Experience of and commitment to a participatory, supportive, open environment to ensure the learning and development of all.
  • Proven experience in monitoring and evaluation of programmes; use of quantitative and qualitative research data collection in support of programme development.
  • Proven experience and knowledge of effective budgetary control and grant management.
  • Experience of distance management
